Québec 49 Review
Québec 49 is a lottery game offered by Loto-Québec and sold only in Québec. It costs $1 per play and has a grand prize of up to $2 million. The drawings for Québec 49 are held biweekly, every Wednesday and Saturday, thereby giving players an opportunity to win lots of prizes. How to Play Québec 49?
There are three main ways through which you can play this game, namely; online, through a mobile app, or through a Loto-Québec retailer.
Playing Online
When playing online, you can either purchase your winning numbers alone or as a group. In order to make online purchases from a Smartphone, tablet or computer, you need to have an Espacejeux account. In order to create this account, you must have obtained the age of 18 and above and a resident of Québec. You should then submit your personal information so that verifications can be done and determine a weekly deposit limit. A photocopy of an identification document or your credit card number will be required to validate your identity.
Once your online account is ready to go, just click on deposit to put money in your account for playing the lottery games. To purchase online draw lotteries, go to play online on your account and select on Québec 49 to begin your process. In selecting the numbers, you may decide to simply play your favorite numbers or chose the automatic selection where a machine does the picking for you. The third prize of $750 goes to the player or players who match 5 out of the 6 winning numbers and the odds are 1:55,492. Matching 4 out 6 numbers wins you a prize of $75 and the odds are 1:1,033. The fifth prize of $10, which comes at odds of 1:56.7, goes to the player who successfully matches 3 out the 6 numbers. The last prize of $5 comes at odds of 1:81.2 and requires you to match 2 out of the 6 numbers plus the bonus number.

Québec 49 Prize Breakdown
Every time you purchase your lottery ticket, you must sign it prior to validation. This makes it easier for you to prove that you are the real owner of the ticket and since it is a bearer document, you can easily protect your interests in case of a loss. When you present a ticket to Loto-Québec to claim a prize, only the lawful holder will be paid and in doing this, Loto-Québec usually takes into account the name that appears on the ticket.
Scratching or making unnecessary marks on the ticket may necessitate additional verifications and hence extend the processing time for your prize. In case you buy a group ticket, each of you must sign the ticket unless you have appointed one person to be in charge of the group. In case one person signs the ticket as the representative, you must write the words “as a group” next to his name as well as include the group agreement.

Confirming Prizes
A winning ticket must be confirmed through its control number failure to which no prize is payable. Any ticket that is mutilated, altered, changed, illegible, improperly cut, incomplete, erroneously printed, or otherwise considered defective will be deemed invalid except in cases where Loto-Québec ascertains the validity through its control number.
Claim Deadline and Additional Information
Before a prize is remitted, a person may be required to provide proof of his legal capacity to receive the prize. The period allowable to claim a prize is one year from the draw date indicated on the ticket. In case the lawful holder of the winning ticket passes on before the prize is remitted, it will be paid out to his estate after presentation of supporting documents.
If a visitor from abroad purchases a lottery ticket in Canada and wins a prize, the effective tax laws in his country will apply. No check will be mailed outside the country by Loto-Québec. In the event the winner purchased his ticket online, the prize amount will be deposited into his Espacejeux account as long as it is less than $25,000. Prizes worth $25,000 or more won online will be claimed by the winner at one of the Loto-Québec offices.
For tickets purchased through a retailer, the winner may claim his prize at a Loto- Québec retailer if it is $600 or less. If the prize won is more than $600 but less than $25,000, it should be claimed at one of the Loto- Québec’s offices. Québec 49 is governed by the By-law respecting numbers games and focused contests which is published in the Gazette officielle du Québec.
