How would one of the richest men alive, Warren Buffet spend his Euromillions winning? Will he invest the money like he always does or donate to charities? He is considered to be one of the smartest investors of all time, at one point of time accumulating wealth up to $62 billion.
In spite of creating so much wealth through his own company, Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffet has had a pretty simple lifestyle. He hoped that others like Bill gates, who are in the same wealth bracket, would follow suit. Warren also promised donations up to 99% of his wealth to charities when he perishes. So even he lives a pretty simplistic life he has set unprecedented benchmarks with his charities. His deeds will no longer be hard to match. Currently the third richest person alive, he has some interesting facts about his life till date:
- His first investment was when he was eleven in the form of purchasing shares.
- He started his career as a modest delivery boy for a local newspaper. He also ran a pinball business in school.
- He bought a small firm at a modest age of fourteen.
- He is currently invested in diversified portfolios like Disney, Coca-Cola, American Express, ABC Studios etc. So he has investments split between different industries.
- He still stays in his old 3-bedroom house which he bought in 1958. It cost him a modest $31,500 at that time.
- Regular use gadgets like mobile phones or even a computer is of no use to him.
- His family and children will not be left with much to charities ranging from 85 – 99% of his total wealth. He had mentioned once that he will not spoil his kids with too much wealth. That way they will not need to do anything. He wants them to build their own lives.
