Okay, I know you must think I’m either stoned or I’m not thinking straight. Wait, did I actually ask you to be negative? Yes, you bet I did! Why? Why is it such a big deal? Oh wait, because since birth, we were taught to be positive. Our parents taught us to be positive, the teachers, your gym tutor, the cab driver who’s driving fast so you can catch a flight, the doctor who’s busy writing a huge prescription for you, your dentist and even the pizza guy. Everyone talks about being positive, but do they know that most good things happen only because we think negative?
Do they know that by thinking negatively you can earn so many people’s respect? Hell no, I’m not kidding! I’ll give you an example. I was supposed to go on a long road trip with other friends, but I didn’t want to miss my draw. While my friends told me that they would reach the destination well before the draw, I seemed to not believe them. Finally, they told me, “be positive” and that’s when I burned my fuse. I had to activate Internet on my phone so I can see the draw when it happens. Check the results without biting my nails off. I was thinking negative all along – we won’t reach there on time, we will have a tyre puncture, there will be lots of breaks, what if the weather beats us, what if this and what if that.
My mind was corrupted with negative thoughts and this pushed me to activate the Internet. We left for the trip and to my surprise, two avid, like seriously avid, lottery players joined us and both of them were “thinking positive”. The draw time has been just around the corner and we were nowhere near our destination! You should have seen the expression on their faces; it was like the whole world was going to end! Finally, I told them I had activated my Internet and that they could check the results as they happen, and guess what, free beer and free dinner! Even accommodation was paid for! Haha!
